Para-life

How did this start? Last year, we started with this idea after a wonderful meeting, with a very important person, that will never be heard by society, but why did this happen?. Probably in all countries of the world, five days a week, four or five weeks per month, twelve months a year the thing that made me change my way of thinking and my way of feeling, is happening, we don't listen and appreciate these people. 

This started one day at Gimnasio Moderno in the first days of school, when our teacher said our project of the year would be the Olympics; the whole the class was excited, but for all the good news, there was also bad news; and what was the bad news? That another topic was the Paralympics. Then all the class thought: why will we study this? This topic is irrelevant in most of the world, but its relevance and impact go further than we think.

The last days of the semester Connie our teacher, said to all the class, guys today I have a surprise for you this happened a few weeks before we finish the school year, she said that we were going to the pool to see our surprise. With a lot of enthusiasm we arrived to wait for our surprise, while waiting we played Ping-Pong the class came over and all of us said to Connie: what happened with the surprise?. The surprise was for us to play Ping-Pong? we asked her, but she said of course not the surprise was something very interesting but he didn't arrive today, I will talk with him to see if next week he can come. We had to wait for another week.

The following week I didn't give importance to the issue, but the day comes, we are in the last day of school, and Connie called us to the entry of the 74th street there we wait for a few minutes and the surprise arrives an unknown man called Diego Dueñas; he's a Paralympic athlete and this was the first time that I saw this man in my life, why was he special? He was bronze medal in Para-cycling in the Paralympics 2016 on Rio, then we think this man is same as any other athlete in Colombia but only because he is Paralympic no one is interested in him and they don't give him the same relevance as to other athletes, this day we changed.
